“Just as a tree grows best when anchored firmly in the earth, so can a pregnant mother feel strong and capable when supported by a sisterhood of nurturing family and friends”
The Blessingway birth ceremony is not your ordinary “baby shower”. It is a wonderful gathering of those most important to you, as you would do with a baby shower but the focus has a spiritual and metaphysical atmosphere. While our most common birth preparations focus on getting women physically ready to give birth, the blessingway ceremony helps a woman to prepare mentally, emotionally and spiritually for the work of birthing and it opens her to her instinctive abilities which will guide her as she steps into the role of mother. The blessingway ceremony is a very positive ritual, affirming that a woman will have a natural and beautiful birth experience with her partner and unborn child which is celebrated by the close women in her family and friends.
