Updates, Summer Solstice, Karma and more!

Ok so I have been a bit inattentive to this site over recent weeks. Its not that I haven’t had much to say but more the time to sit down and write it down!
So the post today will cover a few different thought directions…..

SUMMER SOLSTICE this SUNDAY 21st December, 2009.
I have decided to celebrate this with my nearest and dearest this year. I have decided that it is important to introduce these concepts to family and friends that would not normally be aware of these yearly events and re-introduce them to these age old rituals and traditions.

The summer solstice is a festive day of joy and happiness. It is one of the great solar festivals and celebrates the peak of Summer. It is the longest day of the year when the great Sun stands proudly at his highest point in the sky.

The summer solstice is about embracing creativity and celebrating it with mother earth. In some ways it’s a releasing of that which we don’t need anymore and embracing and focusing on that which we want to CREATE and bring into our lives! I have decided to encourage people to Welcome 2009 by coming to such an event. It is not so important if these people come to the solstice with no specific intention for next year or putting closure to certain energy for this year – what is important is that there is intention to come. That’s a step in the right direction. Of course if people are able to be specific and co-creative with Mother Nature their lives will be all the more better for it.

So you can celebrate with your own summer solstice by having intention of thought on Sunday to that which you want to create and to celebrate all that is Summer – flowers, colours, smells and decorations!

I will finish this topic with a wonderful quote from the OSHO ZEN TAROT –
“Creativity is the quality that you bring to the activity that you are doing. It is an attitude, and inner approach – how you look at things…It makes no difference what particular form your creativity takes – it can be painting or singing, planting a garden or making a meal. The important thing is to be open to what wants to be expressed through you. Remember that we don’t possess our creations; they do not belong to us. True creativity arises from a union with the divine, with the mystical and the unknowable. Then it is both a joy for the creator and a blessing to others!”

HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE!

Finally, over recent weeks I have had an overwhelming urge to talk about Karma. We all have some concept of Karma but the interesting point that I have had a realisation about is that I am not in control of asserting someone else’s Karma that I believe has done wrong to me. My old way of thinking was that Ok someone had done wrong by me so therefore I had to see Karma come back around whether it be delivered in some form that related to me or that I was able to clearly see that they had been “paid back” in some way for what they had done to me.

I am unsure what it was that instigated the shift in my thinking about this subject but I realised that it WAS NONE OF MY BUSINESS! I didn’t have to know whether Karma was in effect. Karma may not even occur in this lifetime in relation to a certain misdemeanour. All I know now is that I trust the process of life and so therefore whatever happens to others is there business and Karma. I don’t have to be aware of it to work. It’s going to be working anyway.

What I need to know is simple – If I live my life with the purest of intentions, with unconditional love and trust in myself and own inner knowing then I will be ok! Karma will be looking after me and that’s all I need to worry about!

One more final! I am gathering expressions of interest for pre-natal mothers/pregnancy support groups. They will be run in the west side of Melbourne and will be similar to mothers groups just with the little ones inside rather than out and preparing mentally, physically and spiritually with other mothers and ourselves for the wonderful experience that lies ahead. This is a time we need to embrace the wonderful role we have to play and take back the power we have in being female and a mother and undertaking this wonderful event. Contact me now.
